Hi all,
For a couple of months I went down to the rabbit hole of installing Arch Linux and ricing my Sige7.
A week ago, I got an updated version of mesa. This made my Wayland compositors crash. I then found a few things out: which mesa update caused this to crash and that the Arch Linux installation for the RK3588 installs a pretty outdated kernel version (6.1 dirty, or so).
Then I took a side quest to update my kernel to the mainline. I recorded everything as a couple of shell scripts and you can try it. There were a few vulnerabilities on the kernel, so this update should get them patched as well.
The only downside is that the USB-C connector can’t output to HDMI due to some lack of driver support.
This is of course a problem worth solving, and maybe we can try to get it tackled and merged on the mainline.
Here is the repo: ArmSoM Sige7 Kernel Update.
Thank you all,
Alex
